We love the fact that it's made of soft materials that have mesh sides that breathe, which aids in airflow and comfort. It is available in charcoal or oak with a range of melange fabrics that blend with all styles of decor. Anna discovered that it was solid and secure when it was attached to her bed. The legs snapped into place and the zippers were secured to ensure security. It took her around 10 minutes to put together and didn't require tools, with clear instructions and a video or support number if you run into any problems.

This is one of Chicco's more expensive options, but it has a wide array of features. It can be used either a side-sleeper, or a standalone crib that is suitable for infants from birth to six months. It has a new mechanism for opening and closing the side panel and is simple to use, even for one-handed operation. It's also more flexible than its predecessor, having 11 different height settings and legs that retract to installation underneath any bed.
Our testers loved the ease of access to the side panel, which can be flipped up and down with just one push of the button. This was an enormous help during feeding times at night because it meant they could reach into and pick up their baby without waking them.
The side panel can be lifted by itself, too, but it's not recommended as this increases the risk of your baby falling out of the cot. The patented safety locking system ensures that the side panel will only remain in place if it's properly attached to the parent's mattress. This feature is great for peace of mind if you breastfeed and require frequent nighttime feeds.
Telescopic legs permit the Chicco Next2Me Magic to be used with any bed, such as divan bases or beds with drawers. It features a tilting feature to help reflux babies, and a rocking function to help ease them into sleep after eating. It's also extremely spacious and has excellent ventilation thanks to its mesh sides.
The Next2Me Magic was easy to use and set up for our testers, despite the lengthy instruction manual. It's a bit heavier than other side-sleepers but it's still quite mobile and can be moved from room to room easily. It's also small enough to fit into its travel bag when not in use which is a bonus in the event that you have to transport it. The only drawback our test subjects found was that the side panel didn't flex like some of the other models, which made it slightly harder to observe your child from your own bed.

If you're in search of a bedside crib that will grow with your child, then the Shnuggle Air is definitely worth a look.
